Le Gravier - A farm in time.
The is the most dramatic and potentially amazing thing I have envisaged, together with your help I want to save this largely untouched 18th Century farm complex.
The idea is to create a home using traditional materials and alternative energies. Eventually to create a garden which i will open for visitors, a small cafe and potentially to run alternative courses around crafts such as fabric dyeing with natural plants, basket making and bread making and of garden design.
Potentially in time I hope to also offer space in Le Gravier for those who love nature and the simple life to come and experiance the world i will create.
Le Gravier
Le Gravier - A farm in time.
The is the most dramatic and potentially amazing thing I have envisaged, together with your help I want to save this largely untouched 18th Century farm complex.
The plan is to make a home here, renovating the buildings using traditional techniques and learning from local artisans. The make a garden which eventually will be open to you to visit, potentially a small cafe and nursery. Ideally a place to teach and share knowledge of crafts such as dyeing fabrics with natural materials, basket making, bread making using the 18th century ovens and of course elements of garden design and practice.
Potentially in time I hope to also offer space in Le Gravier for those who love nature and the simple life to come and experiance the world I will create thanks to your help saving this building.
In short can I do without your help, no.

The Plan
As you will see currently the farm is uninhabitable and most of the roof is dangerously unsafe. The plan is, with your help to first secure the ownership of the building and adjoining 3 acres of land.
Then I will use the capital from the sale of my house to renovate the buildings and create a garden I can share with you. The journey will be long I appricate this from renovaqting my current village house which was abandoned for close to 20 years before I came to live here. The challenge is big but the rewards of saving such a place of simple beauty and sharing that process with people who will it to succeed is beyond words. To answer a question around securing finance to my house it would be to a maximum of 50% of its value which is not enough for the farm and this is why I am asking big.
Its a big ask but I have 90 days to raise 130,000 euros to put towards buying the building and this is where you could help:
How you can help

Leaving a lasting mark
For those of you who can spare more and amounts over £500 your initials or those of someone you would like to remember will be engraved on a new enclosing wall. This for me will be a visual reminder of the power of support given to make this dream come true.Just 260 people giving £500 would make this happen.
